About
Play Schemes take the ethos of Forest School and adapt them to offer one off events with child-led play and engaging activities immersed in nature.
Dorset Forest School have a multi-skilled team of Forest School leaders and enthusiasts who run these schemes throughout the school holidays.
We base ourselves across Dorset in three fantastic woods: Dorchester's Thorncombe Woods, Holton Lee near Wareham and Howards Woods in Netherbury near Bridport.
Our Play Schemes accommodate age 4 to 12 year olds, as our sessions are child-led, mixed age groups allow for sessions to varied and engaging for all ages and interests.
All of our sessions run from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. Parents drop the child off with the leader and collect at the end of the sessions.

What to bring and wear?
Children should be dressed appropriately for a day out in the woods with sensible shoes and their legs covered.
A Packed Lunch, Water based drink, sun cream(applied beforehand), layer of warmth waterproof clothing, all medication.

Note: Thorncombe woods Parking Charges - Dorset county council have installed a new parking meter. Regular visitors an annual permit is £25.National Trust members or Blue badge holders can park for free. You can drop your child off without purchasing a ticket.
